Patrick Dempsey-You Made Me Love You.

I didn't want to do it. I really really didn't want to I swear. I had been avoiding it for two years now and been completely happy with my choice. Until last night that is. I had to do it. The preview were just too compelling not to. People keep telling me to do it all the time, even my own mother. So I did....I watched Grey's Anatomy for the first time.

Not only did I watch the premier of season three, I also watched the wrap up of season two before that. I mean if I am going to get on the bandwagon of the show I might as well be caught up completely right.

Let me tell you something. Two hours of Patrick Dempsey was NOT a bad thing. He is ridiculous handsome.

So overall I enjoyed the show. It was pretty sad though when that blond girl's fiancee died, and she's laying in the hospital bed with him.....boooooohoooohhooooo. I sobbed like I had watched the show for the past two years and actually cared about these characters! Kind of silly yes, but honestly I think I am hooked and will probably tune in next week.

The only reason I didn't watch it in the first place two years ago was for a couple of reasons. Number one the commercials advertising the show were so totally cheesy and silly, my husband and I would imitate them and just laugh. And the other reason is that since Grey's Anatomy is a hospital drama, I felt like I was being disloyal to good ol' "ER" on NBC. I have watched "ER" since the beginning, but stopped watching when I was pregnant with my girls and couldn't stand the gory bloody nature of some of the scenes. Which incidentally I caught the premier last night of "ER" and that was sooooo sad too!

Maybe I need to check out some of the comedies coming out this fall tv season. Unless none of them have anybody who looks like Patrick Dempsey, which they probably don't. I mean how about "Ugly Betty" anyone? I don't think so!

*Beauty Tip* If you don't have naturally wavy thick glorious hair like Patrick Dempsey there are some great volumizing products out there to try. My favorite right now is the "Create Root Volume Brushable Lifting Spray" by Jonathan Product. You remember good ol' Jonathan Antin from "BlowOut" on Bravo, right? Hair Stylist to the stars! His line is avalible at Sephora.com

My New Motto

I had a moment of enlightenment this morning. So here it is. My new motto....Be Cool.

That's it, just Be Cool.
I am going to try to remember my new motto when things are kind of chaotic as they often are when you are raising two small children. Here are a few things to test out my new motto. I am going to Be Cool when...

*my youngest woke up like a million times a night(4 really) because she the teething monster is haunting her again. Be Cool.

*my oldest asking me for yet another snack when it's only 9 in the morning and she has just had breakfast. Be Cool.

*buying a house we can't afford before we sell our current house. Be Cool. Be Cool. I have to think it twice on this one because this is really freaking me out.

*water heater breaking. No hot water, dishes in the sink, dirty laundry everywhere, kids need hot baths, I need a hot shower. No to all of the above, damn you hot water heater. Be Cool.

*all three of us are still in our pj's at 12:27 in the afternoon. Be Cool.

*dead tree in our backyard that needs to be cut down on orders from the city. It's only $1000 job. Be Cool.

*my oldest daugher again asking for a snack only 10 minutes after eating lunch. Be Cool.I am on the case now folks, it's going to be smooth sailing from now on if I keep my new motto in mind, right? Oh and here's one more that just happened. My youngest just spilled her big sister's, non-washable paints onto the carpeted floor. The same floor that we are desparately trying to sell! BE COOL!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

*Beauty Tip* In an effort to keep things cool I am going to tell you about my biggest pet peeve when it comes to lipstick. I do not like lipstick that is flavored with cool mint. Big Yuck. Not cool.

Oprah For President?

I really think that Oprah could be President. She's a billionaire, has a tv show, magazine, and millions of fans. Wouldn't she easily be voted in just on the stay-at-home Mom vote alone?
I have to say though that I am not a huge fan of Oprah's. I think she comes off as kind of controlling and condesending on her show. But I think someone who has as much money as she does develops some kind of "high and mightly" complex. It's impossible in her position with all her influence and money not to. So it's ok, she's Oprah.

I do wonder what Oprah would be like as a mother. She never had any children of her own. Would she have been as successful if she had become a mother at some point? Would her ambition have been any different? Would her priorities have changed?

Oprah was one of my oldest daughter's first words, it's easy to say and plus she would see her on tv almost everyday and when we were at the grocery store I would point out Oprah on the cover of her magazine. Kind of like "Where's Waldo", but with Oprah instead. My daughter who is four now still points out Oprah wherever she sees her picture or on TV. Rachel Ray's show is on right now and her guest is none other then Oprah and my daugter comes in and says "Hey, What's Oprah doing on this show?" She even knew it wasn't Oprah's own show. Maybe I watch too much tv.

I Admit It, I Miss The Wiggles!

Alright Playhouse Disney, I am a little irritated with you. Why are The Wiggles only on once at 7 in the morning? I admit it, I miss The Wiggles! I mean they used to be on three or four times a day at least! My daughter and I gamely danced each morning to "Hot Potato" and "Fruit Salad." You really can't beat the classics.

Now I know that as far as programming goes that Disney had to make room for some new shows. I can't dance to "Little Einsteins" and isn't "Handy Manny" like a cheater combination of "Dora" and "Bob the Builder?" Can't watch it Disney Programming People. I miss The Wiggles. Anthony, the blue Wiggle, isn't bad on the eyes in the morning as I am trying to down a cup of coffee and feed my two young children. Johnny of "Johnny & the Sprites," just doesn't do it for me. He's a little too musical theatre, if you know what I mean. But dancing, singing, Australian men? Yipee!

I could do without Captain Feathersword though. He's kind of an attention whore, don't you think? And speaking of attention seekers....Rachel's Ray's first show is starting so I gotta go.

*Beauty Tip* Fruit Salad Body Mask(In honor of The Wiggles!)

This may sound as if you're pouring a smoothie for the skin -- and you are -- but for good reason. Pineapple contains bromeliad, a protein-digestive enzyme which helps rid the skin of dead cells and dirt. It also counteracts histamines, has anti-inflammatory properties, and is a mild astringent. Grapes are rich in PCOs which provide protection against harmful UV rays, and, are anti-oxidents. Bananas have loads of vitamins, calcium and essential nutrients which keep the skin smooth and soft. Kiwi is high in vitamin C and has enzymatic properties. Honeydew is both soothing and hydrating.

2 slices pineapple - rind removed
1/2 med. honeydew melon - rind removed
1 doz. green grapes
1 med. banana - peeled
1 med. kiwi fruit – peeled

Puree all ingredients in food processor. Mixture will be slightly lumpy. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Smooth onto body and/or face, leaving on for half an hour. Rinse off with tepid water.

p.s You can always drink this smoothie treatment instead and share it with your kids too!

Did You Miss Me? Do You Miss Steve Guttenberg?

If you are a stay at home Mom, you are going to be really jealous of my next statement. Try not to be mad at me, but...

I just spend a week on vacation, doing nothing but reading magazines, watching tv, dining out, and drinking copious amounts of wine without my children for 6 whole days!! Yipee!! My husband and I didn't go anywhere very exciting because it was actually work for him. A convention with his company for a week.

I won't say the name of the city we were in as to not insult anyone who might live in this very boring city, but it was boring, and kind of deserted. We stayed in the downtown area, and maybe it just wasn't a very busy part of the city, but I could walk outside the hotel and see absolutely no one. It Kind of creeped me out. So I mostly stayed inside and vegged out while my poor husband ran meetings and did other work related activities. I also got to watch plenty of bad movies. Did you see the first feature film that Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen did? I think it was called "It Takes Two." It also starred the ever handsome 80's hearthrob...Steve Guttenberg! I haven't seen him in anything in a while. He's pretty cute and should really get back into the whole acting thing. Maybe a tv show or something. So I saw the majority of that movie. Riveting.

I got to see parts of other movies too. Some good, some bad. I saw "The Notebook" but it was too sad to watch the whole thing. I also saw half of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" starring the duo Bragelina. It was ok. I felt that the concept of them trying to kill eachother got kind of old after awhile. Don't tell me what happens in the end because I only saw the first half of the movie. The sex scene wasn't even that good. No big name actors ever want to get naked in movies anymore. I miss the 80's. I miss Steve Guttenberg.

*Beauty Tip* Now that summer is over I need to start getting my hair in good condition for the winter. All that sun, fun, and pool water has taken it's toll on my hair in the form of dryness. For a great deep conditioning mask try any kind of deep conditioner and slather it on. Then heat up a wet towel in the microwave and wrap your hair in it to help the conditoner activate for maximum softness and shine!
